I travel To learn because
I have struggled to find sanctuary for myself and in myself for as long as I can remember. School wasn't always a sanctuary for me but it made me want to provide a safe space for future students the way a few amazing teachers did for me.
The resources, blog posts, and research on this page are completely student centered. This means I will be striving to find multi-cultural activities and sources because classrooms are not made up of a single type of student. |
That's all well and good but why on Earth are there classroom resources on a travel blog?!
To be frank. American schools have A LOT to learn from the rest of the world. Something I want to do in my travels is volunteer in and observe classrooms around the world to see how they are taught. I hope to post what I learn and resources from different places here so they're available to other teachers like me. Though the material will be tailored to the American educational system, I also hope that the material posted here will be useful to other teachers as well.
And another thing: books are a BIG part of the reason I want to see the world as much as I do. Had I not found a love for reading at a young age, I wouldn't have fallen in love with the idea of Italy or the entirety of Chinese culture or known how cool Greek Mythology can be. I honestly wouldn't be me without books and I want to give other children the chance to leave the land around them (even if it's just for a few minutes) when they don't yet have the capability to leave.
Some Rad REsources & RESEARCH ARTICLES
Teachers Pay Teachers is awesome because all of its resources were made by teachers for teachers. A lot of the resources are free. The link below takes you to my store where all resources are free. It's a bit empty at the moment but more is on the way!

Edx is really rad because it gives you the opportunity to take college courses for free on your own time and at your own pace. I'm partial to the law, literature, and education courses but they have anything and everything you could imagine.
